Description
This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of token economics and its role in determining the value, utility, and economic potential of digital assets. The course explores the theoretical and practical foundations of token-based systems, including the evolution of money and financial intermediation, blockchain technology, token taxonomy, and incentive mechanisms. Students analyze supply and demand dynamics, governance structures, information asymmetry, and token valuation, while also applying analytical tools such as DSGE modelling and Monte Carlo simulations. The main strengths of the course include its strong Ftheoretical grounding in monetary economics, integration of advanced quantitative methods, and critical analysis of contemporary research and real-world token economy case studies.
